Resumo

O artigo realiza a análise das ilustrações em diálogo com o texto do livro “Um Dia, Um Rio”, publicado pela editora Pulo do Gato em 2016. Inicialmente, é realizada uma breve exposição da história da ilustração, bem como dos motivos que levaram à escolha do livro como objeto de análise. Em seguida, a partir de autores como Aumont (1993), Liden (2011), Buchanan (1985), Hunt (2010), Lima (2009) e Moraes (2008), refletimos teoricamente a respeito dos conceitos de imagem, ilustração infantil e retórica do design. A análise dos argumentos persuasivos do livro e de suas ilustrações no projeto gráfico consideram serem tais imagens visuais permeadas de sentidos metafóricos que fazem parte da semântica do objeto-livro.

Abstract

This paper analyses the illustrations in dialogue with the text of the book “Um Dia, Um Rio”, published by Pulo do Gato in 2016. Initially, a brief exposition of the history of illustration is carried out, as well as the reasons that led to the choice of this book as the object of analysis. Then, from authors such as Aumont (1993), Liden (2011), Buchanan (1985), Hunt (2010), Lima (2009) and Moraes (2008), a theoretical reflection is carried out regarding the concepts of image, childlike illustration, and design rhetoric. The analysis of the book’s persuasive arguments and its illustrations in the graphic design concludes that such visual images are permeated with metaphorical meanings that are part of the semantics of the book-object.
