Resumo

O objetivo deste artigo consiste em realizar uma análise visual das animações da empresa japonesa Studio Ghibli, buscando identificar a aplicação do Design Bioinspirado e suas vertentes: biomimética, biomorfismo e bioutilização nos artefatos que compõem os ambientes dos animes. Foram selecionadas nove obras dentro de seus 23 longas-metragens produzidos, identificando elementos e relacionando-os com os conceitos anteriormente mencionados. Foram feitas capturas de tela e pesquisas de imagens para realizar as comparações. Em sequência, foi realizada uma interpretação simbólica levando em consideração influências históricas presentes nas narrativas. Os resultados e conclusões revelaram que as animações do estúdio apresentam uma forte incorporação do Design Bioinspirado, evidenciando a relação homem-natureza em diversos elementos da obra como cenários, aeronaves, vestimentas, utensílios domésticos e objetos decorativos. A análise cronológica revelou mudanças e inovações ao longo dos anos, com um aumento na exploração da anatomia de animais e a presença recorrente de decorações internas inspiradas na natureza.

Abstract

The aim of this article is to conduct a visual analysis of the animations produced by the Japanese company Studio Ghibli, seeking to identify the application of Bio-inspired Design and its aspects: biomimetics, biomorphism, and bioutilization in the artifacts that make up the environments of the animes. Nine works were selected from their 23 feature films produced, identifying elements and relating them to the aforementioned concepts. Screenshots and image searches were conducted for comparisons. Subsequently, a symbolic interpretation was performed, taking into account historical influences present in the narratives. The results and conclusions revealed that the studio’s animations exhibit a strong incorporation of Bio-inspired Design, highlighting the human-nature relationship in various elements of the work, such as settings, aircraft, clothing, household utensils, and decorative objects. The chronological analysis revealed changes and innovations over the years, with an increase in the exploration of animal anatomy and the recurring presence of nature-inspired interior decorations.
